编前语：最近和朋友随意聊起音乐（说你呢！X姑娘），竟然不知道Tori的Silent All these Years。作为怀旧人士以及Tori的真爱粉，感到很受伤。故要分享一下或许渐渐被人遗忘的女神。然而下笔何难。Tori Amos的音乐造诣非凡，我只能抱着诚惶诚恐的心，描绘一下她音乐的轮廓。希望她的好，让更多人感受到。非中国地区的朋友们要听歌，请看原文地址。

Tori Amos：Not Silent All these Years

灰绿色的眼睛，一张雪白如纸的脸。这个镜头里的她，好似文艺复兴时期，油画里的少女。

一头红发，一架纯白的钢琴。她叉开双腿，游动着她灵巧的手指，在键盘上敲击出变幻多端的乐曲。扭动的身躯，挑逗的眼神，她用全部的肢体，呐喊她的思考，她是Tori Amos。

作为最年轻的Peabody音乐学院的奖学金获得者（5岁），Tori从小接受了大量传统古典音乐的熏陶，加上家庭的原因，她也接受了很严格的宗教教育。11岁由于对非传统古典音乐的迷恋，以及不服从学院的禁令，Tori被开除。辍学的Tori在家长的监护下，开始在Gay吧驻唱。在那个年代，对同性恋的歧视还是相当严重，Tori却毫不在意，她需要音乐，需要舞台，需要听众，需要表达。从此，她通过音乐，开始了对自我、社会和世界的探索，诉说，反抗，以及回归。

Tori的音乐风格主要以另类摇滚，流行摇滚为主，也大量融合电子乐，流行巴洛克等元素。这对于一个主要使用钢琴和键盘做乐器的音乐人为主，还是挺罕见的。初期的三张专辑，主要用钢琴作为她音乐的主要伴奏，配上清亮的嗓音，散发出青春又略显稚嫩的气息。接下来的专辑，她转型开始更多的使用乐队的伴奏，电子以及其他的音乐元素，让风格多变，更好得展现了她独立，成熟，又不乏女性魅力的一面。近几年的三张专辑回归了古典音乐，开始融合现代和古典音乐，在跨界古典领域上广获好评。她多变的音乐风格，不拘小节的对音乐形式和结构的探索，都成为她独树一帜的魅力所在。

|| Mary Jane : Then “Mom I want to forna… I mean formulate and discover the realms of the unknown with Mary Jane”…”I admit your puberty was somewhatstrange, Could this be fixed with Mary Jane?”…”Mary Jane, Mary Jane, Mary Janewho?”…”She even bakes?” “These odd brownies”…”On her maternal side, there was a Dr. Tetrahydrocannabinol Pure Isomer Dronabinol.”…”Mary Jane Who” （Dr. Tetrahydrocannabinol，大麻成分之一；Mary，耶稣母亲的名字；Jane，寓意高贵典雅。）

有时候，你会觉得她的歌词就好像Chomsky的“Colorless green ideas sleep furiously”，一切都符合语法，又无法组合成有意义的文字。然而，她时而浅显，时而晦涩，那种似有似无，留下蛛丝马迹让你去猜想，让你大胆发挥想象的空间，才是最为迷人的地方。再配上具有催眠效果的声音，娴熟的键盘控制力，一不小心就循环了一整天。

Tori的魅力以及她对音乐的理解，还来自于她不凡的个人生活经历。生活在天主教家庭，父母又具有东奇诺基人的血统，让她从血液里就充满了对精神性的探索和冲突。早年对传统音乐的深入研习，才让她对传统古典乐理解深刻，却有想要跳出古典乐的框框架架，去追寻自由而浪漫的alternative rock。未成名前，她在酒吧演出后，遭到强暴，这一创伤事件更让她的音乐对这个男权主义社会充满了挑衅和反抗的火药味（《Me and A Gun》的无伴奏清唱，那种压迫和震撼，让人感到受害者面临威胁的无助）。

她的柔软和女性，在哥哥去世后的《beekeepers》以及和女儿合作的两张专辑《Nightof Hunters》和《Unrepentant Geraldines》都有所体现（《Sleeps with butterflies》是包容的爱（强烈推荐下方钢琴伴唱的版本），《Sweet Sting》是危险的爱，《Promise》是温柔的爱）。期间，她还化身为异国女子Scarlet以及5个不同的AmericanDolls，通过概念音乐对自我进行充分的挖掘和探索。
