本周韦礼安的音乐周一见带来的歌曲是《猫咪共和国》，相信很多歌迷都已经在而立世界巡回演唱会听过这首歌了。继巡回演唱会主题曲《而立》，相隔半年，韦礼安再次推出全新单曲《猫咪共和国》，他的创作灵感来源正是他家中的三只可爱猫咪--耶逼、狗狗和橘弟，他想透过新歌纪录牠们的声音，因此写下了这首轻快可爱的歌曲。
This week’s <See You On Monday> presents <Cat Republic>. I believe fans who have attended WeiBird’s <At Thirty> World Tour would have heard it before. It has been half a year since the release of his concert’s theme song <At Thirty>. This time, WeiBird has officially released yet another track titled, <Cat Republic>. Drawing inspiration from the 3 lovely felines he raises at home – Yebi, Gougou and Judy, he wanted to use this opportunity to record their voices and hence this catchy, cute tune was born.
韦礼安的新单曲《猫咪共和国》是与国际音乐公司The Orchard合作的第一首单曲，日前他在公司和工作人员开会，刚好是他生日前夕，开会到一半，出他意料之外的出现他的爱猫耶逼造型的蛋糕，他大呼：“这是耶逼吗？太可爱了吧！”还搞笑地捧着耶逼蛋糕拼命吸说：“ 来吸一下猫味！”全场唱起生日快乐歌，提前为他庆生，他笑说：“很惊喜耶，我以为我是来开会的！”
WeiBird’s <Cat Republic> is the first of his track to be co-produced with international music company, The Orchard. A few days back, a meeting took place at the office, and it just so happened that it was also a day before WeiBird’s birthday. Halfway through, he unexpectedly received a cat-shaped cake and exclaimed, “Is that Yebi? That’s so cute!”. While laughing and carrying it, he joked, “Let’s smell the cat!”. Soon, everybody starting singing him a birthday song to which he laughed and said, “What a surprise, I thought I was here for a meeting!”.
他开心许愿，希望在场所有人工作都很顺利，疫情快快过去，并公布生日当天《猫咪共和国》于Hit FM电台大首播！不过当大家逼着他下刀切蛋糕时，他看着爱猫耶逼造型的蛋糕，直说：“这怎么下得了手啊！”最后还是努力切开了耶逼的头，并挑选吃掉耶逼耳朵部位的蛋糕。
WeiBird was so happy, he made two wishes: For those present to have a smooth career and for the virus to quickly subside. Additionally, he announced that the track <Cat Republic> will officially begin its first broadcast on Hit FM on the day of his birthday! When everyone started egging him to cut the cake, he stared at it and said, “I can’t do it!”. Eventually, he did his best and managed to cut its head to eat its ears.
新单曲《猫咪共和国》是R&B加上节奏蓝调的轻松歌曲，以基本的爵士和弦，然后加入韦礼安养的三只猫咪的声音采样；歌词是以「猫咪」为第一人称的「猫视角」，对人类散发充满独特猫风格的「爱意」，歌词提及许多猫咪日常的胡作非为，如咬断你的耳机、打翻你的咖啡、拿蟑螂送你等，韦礼安笑说：“还好我的主子们都没有做过这些事，这都是我朋友们的遭遇，我的猫没有上演过『猫的报恩』拿蟑螂送我，我每次都只有看到蟑螂脚…...”
WeiBird’s new single <Cat Republic> is a soothing R&B track that combines basic jazz chords with voice samples of his 3 cats. The lyrics are written from a [cat’s perspective], full of [love] for its human and it depicts its mischievousness–Chewing on earphones, spilling over coffee, retrieving cockroaches, etc. Thankfully, he said, “My cat doesn’t do such things, these are all incidents that happened to my friend. My cat has never shown me [gratitude] by giving me a cockroach. Although sometimes I happen to see cockroach legs…”.
他说，之前家住靠山，有一次有一只蟾蜍不知好歹跳进家里，他只见到三只猫猫在跟蟾蜍玩，但蟾蜍已经一脸狼狈，身上黏满猫毛，让韦礼安赶紧解救蟾蜍放生，他笑说：“还好没有咬着蟾蜍来送我，听说猫咪会有所谓送主人东西的行为，是觉得你没有维生的能力，我想我的猫应该觉得我过得还可以！”
Back when he stayed near the mountains, a toad once entered his home on accident. To his surprise, he saw his cats treating it like one of its own, covering it up with their fur. This shocked WeiBird and prompted him to save the toad. He laughed and said, “Thank goodness my cats didn’t give it to me. I heard cats give their owners such items when it thinks you can’t survive on your own, so I guess my cats still think I’m doing ok!”
韦礼安也分享了他跟猫咪的生活日常，他常跟朋友开玩笑说自己好像住在一个巨大的猫砂盆里，养三只猫的日常会有许多惊人的把屎把尿，而且生活里猫咪们随时都在，好像自己住在猫咪家，而不是我家。不过他还是心甘情愿过着以猫为尊的猫奴生活，只是前一阵子，他发现爱猫们竟然改变习性，随处尿尿，没有在猫砂盆解决，气得他训斥牠们好一会儿，才发现怎么自己脸上湿湿的，好像有水滴在身上，抬头一看，恍然大悟原来是家里天花板漏水，根本不是爱猫不乖，白白挨一顿骂，这时他只好再奉上罐头，讨好主子们。
WeiBird shares what daily life is like with his cats. He always jokes with his friends, saying that his house is actually a giant litterbox. Living with 3 cats come with a lot of poop and urine. The fact that the cats are always around even makes him feel as if he’s staying in a cat’s home, not his. However, he is more than willing to look after them, though there was this incident that made him realised his cats’ behaviour had somehow changed. They started urinating everywhere, outside the designated litterbox. He was so angry he started chiding them until he realised there was something wet on his face as if his entire body was dripping with water. Carefully, he raised his head only to discover that his ceiling was leaking and that the water on the floor had nothing to do with the cats. After realizing his scolding was for naught, he had no choice but to open up a can of food in hopes of regaining his cats’ favour.
