Taking a new twist on a traditional staple—To celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, students in our Mandarin program have been experiencing the mooncake making process. Traditionally, mooncakes are made from red bean or lotus seed paste and may contain the yolk of a salted duck egg. These small treasures have been enjoyed this way for generations. Under the guidance and encouragement of ISNS’ amazing teaching staff, our students are shaking things up a bit and have decided to creatively add some new flavors to their mooncakes this year. What a great way to celebrate the traditions of our host country while at the same time celebrating the individuality and uniqueness of each child.
